Hanfei Tu
Hanfei is a pianist, photographer, and currently a third-year trainee at the Riverside Initiative for the Alexander Technique. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Xinghai Conservatory in China, then earned both her Master’s degree and a Professional Studies Diploma from the Mannes School of Music in New York City. Hanfei was first introduced to the Alexander Technique during a summer program at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She later continued her studies in the technique with Teva Bjerken while at Mannes. Having personally experienced the challenges of a serious wrist injury, she discovered how profoundly the technique supports both physical ease and mental clarity. This inspired her to commit to teacher training, with the goal of making the Alexander Technique more accessible to others seeking similar benefits.
